- Summary
- The former crew of the USS Leviathan adjusts to their next assignment, the newly-commissioned USS Vengeance.
Synopsis[]
[]
On 31 December 2409 (84011.6), the senior officers from the USS Leviathan are staying at a penthouse across from Waikīkī Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii. Jason Fredricks, Lucas Wells, Tala Jones, Elisa Flores, and Dylyp Azeli are all out on the penthouse's balcony, reflecting on events of the past year and their lives in general.
Lucas, having just celebrated his 24th birthday, feel time is passing rapidly before his eyes, and Dylyp agrees with him, noting that it's been almost six years since he enlisted in Starfleet. After a brief detour to their desire to explore the vast "unknowns" of the universe, the conversation segues into talk about their allies in the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Republic. They are interrupted by their crewmates inside announcing the new year's arrival, and the five friends make a toast.

Background and trivia[]
- This chapter is an adaptation of the Star Trek Online missions "Under the Cover of Night" and "S'harien's Swords".
- Both of the missions were removed from the game in 2015, nevertheless, CaptFredricks still decided to adapt them.
- In the case of "S'harien's Swords", parts of it were repurposed for the new mission "Desperate Measures". However, the setting for the original mission, the Dimorus system, was not reused, allowing Capt to use it for this chapter.
- The star system that "Under the Cover of Night" originally took place in was the Agrama system, but it is used in the new mission, "Empress Sela". Thus, the reason for Capt changing the location.
- An early stardate considered for this chapter was 83966.8.
- This chapter was published on the same day as "Stranded in Space", but eight years later.
