- The USS Enterprise has been ordered to Donset IV to mediate a dispute between the two governments on the planet, they're joined by the USS Nightingale under the command of Captain Jessica Smith. while mediating the situation Captain Branson is severally injured the Enterprise crew find themselves under attack by the two armadas from the factions can Commander Ivanova who is in command rescue her people or will the Enterprise be destroyed!

EXT-SPACE/WARP TUNNEL
The Enterprise is at warp speed.
CAPT. BRANSON'S (VO): Captain's Log Stardate 5478.2, The Enterprise is on course for a region of space that should be a great study for the crew, I am also looking forward to spending time with my wife who has come to visit me at Starbase Eleven at our last stop before departed
INT-CAPTAIN BRANSON'S QUARTERS
Both John and Jessica are in the bed as Jessica is on John's chest and their sitting up in the bed.
JESSICA: This is a great time that I am having with you John.
JOHN: Same here I wanna say thanks for getting me to speak with Commodore Owens, cause if you didn't I would of been stuck at Starbase Six for a long time.
JESSICA (Smiles): You're welcome dear.
Then the com activates.
CMDR. IVANOVA (Com Voice): Bridge to Captain Branson
John gets out of bed and goes over to the com panel.
CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Branson here.
CMDR. IVANOVA (Com Voice): Sir we're receiving a hail from Starfleet Command its Vice Admiral Kirk
CAPT. BRANSON: Patch him to my quarters Z.
CMDR. IVANOVA (com voice): Aye, sir
Captain Branson sits at the desk and turns on the desktop monitor.
CAPT. BRANSON: Admiral Kirk what can I do for you?
VICE ADM. KIRK (On monitor): John I hate to do this to you and your crew but I'm diverting you to Donset IV, are you familiar with the planet?
CAPT. BRANSON: Yeah two warring factions have been warring over control of the planet for last few decades, and that one of the factions has asked for Federation help but the other faction has threaten to destroy a Federation Starship that enters orbit of the planet.
Admiral Kirk nods.
VICE ADM. KIRK (Monitor): We're sending the Enterprise to see if they'll fire on a Constitution-class heavy cruiser, your orders are to head to the planet and see if you can defuse the situation before it results in a full-scale war that could effect the entire Alpha Quadrant
CAPT. BRANSON: What are my orders if they start firing at the Enterprise?
VICE ADM. KIRK (Monitor): Your orders are to defend yourselves if you see that you're being threaten
CAPT. BRANSON (Sighs): We'll get it done sir.
VICE ADM. KIRK (Monitor): Good luck John Kirk out
Transmission ends.
JESSICA: Well so much for spending time with each other.
John looks at her with a surprise look.

EXT-SPACE/DONSET IV ORBIT

The Enterprise exits warp and enters orbit.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE
ENS. CARLSON: Establishing standard orbit of Donset IV now sir.
LTCMDR. T'LAR: Sensors are picking up two warships approaching us.
CAPT. BRANSON: On screen let's see them.
Transparent viewer shows the two warships.
EXT-SPACE/DONSET IV ORBIT
The two warships stop on the port and starboard sides of the Enterprise.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE
LT. MASON: Should I raise shields sir?
CAPT. BRANSON: No leave them down let's show a bit of good faith.
LT. MASON: Aye, sir.
Captain Branson gets up from the Captain's chair.
CAPT. BRANSON: Julia open a channel to the warship on our port side.
LTJG. SMITH (nods): Aye, sir they're responding.
The transparent viewer shows the bridge of the port side warship.
CAPT. BRANSON: Greetings I'm John Branson Captain of the Federation Starship USS Enterprise, I represent the United Federation of Planets.
LTCOL. R'SOL (Viewer): What is your reason for being here Captain?
Captain Branson stands up and walks in front of the helm and nav stations.
CAPT. BRANSON: We've been ordered by Starfleet to come here and mediate the dispute between your two people.
LTCOL. R'SOL (Viewer): Very well
Transmission ends.
CMDR. IVANOVA: Charming fellow.
CAPT. BRANSON: Yeah let's get it done Z you've got the bridge Mister Mason your with me have a security team meet us in transporter room.
CMDR. IVANOVA: Sir Away Team Guidelines state that I should lead the landing party.
CAPT. BRANSON: I understand that Z but I wanna do this.
Captain Branson enters the lift with Lieutenant Mason and the lift doors closed, as Commander Ivanova sits in the Captain's Chair.
EXT-DONSET IV SURFACE
The landing party materialized as the Federation Ambassador Sarek greets them.
AMBASSADOR SAREK: Captain Branson?
Branson turns to see the Vulcan Ambassador.
CAPT. BRANSON (Smiles): Ambassador Sarek.
They trade the Vulcan salute.
AMBASSADOR SAREK: Its good to finally meet you in person my son has told me great things about you.
CAPT. BRANSON: And Admiral Kirk has told me about you I just hope that we can figure out how to keep them from coming to blows.
They head to the embassy building unknown to them they're being watched by rebel forces from afar.
(END OF ACT ONE, FADE OUT)FADE IN
INT-EMBASSY BUILDING
The landing party is being led by Ambassador Sarek to the main area.
CAPT. BRANSON: I hope that I can do a great job I've not been in a diplomatic situation since the Coridan cease fire treaty with the Vulcans.
AMBASSADOR SAREK: Then I wish you luck Captain.
Captain Branson walks in the middle.
CAPT. BRANSON: My name is Captain John Thomas Branson of the United Federation of Planets, I am appearing before you as a neutral representative of the Fibonan Republic. We're here to make a cease fire agreement between you and the rebel governments before open war I hope that we can come to terms.
AMBASSDOR JONES: Captain I am pleased that the Federation has sent the best of the best that they have.
CAPT. BRANSON (Nods): Thank you Ambassador.
LTCOL. R'SOL: WE FEEL LIKE THEY NEED TO LEAVE THE PLANET!
AMBASSADOR JONES: We need this planet to have our people live out the rest of their lives out of the warzone Colonel.
Then they start arguing as Captain Branson is worried about the peace.
CUT TO:
EXT-SPACE/DONSET IV ORBIT
The Enterprise is in orbit along with the two warships.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (YELLOW ALERT)
CAPT. BRANSON (Com Voice): So far this is tough right now but I am doing well so far the Fibonan people are demanding respect and the planet, I'm gonna suggest that you take the ship to yellow alert just to be on the safe side if they decide to open fire on the Enterprise
CMDR. IVANOVA: Aye, sir do it.
The relief tactical officer set the ship to yellow alert and the lights on the bridge start flashing yellow.
CAPT. BRANSON (Com voice): They're going back in I've got to go keep an eye on those two warships Branson out
Commander Ivanova goes back to the center chair.
ENS. CARLSON: So we just sit here and wait?
CMDR. IVANOVA: Pretty much Kara.
INT-EMBASSY CHAMBERS
CAPT. BRANSON: People please we're trying to make peace with one another let's work on that.
AMBASSADOR JONES: What good is peace if someone doesn't want when they torture innocent men, women, and children who just want to live in peace.
EXT-OUTSIDE THE EMBASSY CHAMBERS
Rebel forces are on both sides of the door.
LTCOL. R'SOL: Ready?
His men nods and they enter the building.
INT-EMBASSY CHAMBERS
As the cease fire treaty is still be hammered out by Ambassador Sarek who is giving Captain Branson a break to recover before he strangles the Ambassador of the Fibonan Republic.
LT. MASON: You alright sir?
CAPT. BRANSON: I'm fine Jack just glad that Sarek is here or I would of been court martialed at Starfleet Command.
Then they hear weapons fire and Lieutenant Mason opens the door a bit and sees people shooting up the place.
LT. MASON: A squad of rebels are shooting up the chambers we've got to get out of here.
Then they hear explosions outside and Captain Branson opened his communicator.
CAPT. BRANSON (into communicator): Branson to Enterprise lock onto the delegation and beam them to the ship now!
The delegation is beamed back but Lieutenant Mason and Captain Branson is thrown from the building and is badly injured as Lieutenant Mason and Ensign Peterson help him to get clear of the kelbinoate ore.

EXT-SPACE/DONSET IV ORBIT
The two warships fire at the Enterprise as the shields take the brunt of the hit.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
ENS. NELSON: Shields are holding Commander.
Ship jolts to port and then starboard.
CMDR. IVANOVA: Re-route power to the shield emitters Kara keep us in orbit, bridge to transporter room have the rest of the delegation beam back?
CHIEF MACKENZIE (com voice): Yes Commander except for Captain Branson, Lieutenant Mason, and Ensign Peterson
Doctor Carlson enters the bridge.
LTJG. SMITH: Doctor Lieutenant Mason on the line for you.
She hands him the ear wig and Doctor Carlson takes it.
DR. CARLSON (To com): I'm here Lieutenant.
EXT-DONSET IV SURFACE
Explosions are erupting everywhere.
LT. MASON (To com): The Captain is injured badly he's got shrapnel in his neck, we can't risk beaming him up.
DR. CARLSON (Com voice): Damn we can't do much for him onboard the ship you'll have to treat him yourself Jack, I'll walk you through the treatment
LT. MASON (to com): Alright Steven Ensign give me the medical kit.
Ensign Peterson gets the medical kit and Jack starts treating Captain Branson, as explosions erupt around them.
CUT TO:
EXT-SPACE/DONSET IV ORBIT
A pair of torpedoes hit the port side of the Enterprise as shields flicker from the hits that it just took.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
Ship jolts to port and then starboard as sparks erupt from the ceiling.
LT. MITCHELL: Shields are down to seventy-five percent Commander we need to break orbit or we'll be destroyed.
CMDR. IVANOVA: No we can't we've got the Captain and his landing party on the surface.
LT. MITCHELL: Commander we're outnumbered and outgunned by two heavily armed warships, we need to get out of here while we still can.
CAPT. SMITH: Not while my husband and his landing party are on the surface.
Ivanova turns to see Jessica on the bridge.
CMDR. IVANOVA: Captain Smith welcome to the bridge.
Ship jolts harder and harder.
CAPT. SMITH: Mister Mitchell come to course two-one-five mark twenty that should keep us out of their weapons range and hopefully give us enough time to help my husband and his team.
LT. MITCHELL: Aye, Captain.
Lieutenant Mitchell inputs commands into the navigational station.
EXT-SPACE/DONSET IV ORBIT
The Enterprise moves to starboard as the torpedoes miss the Heavy cruiser.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
LT. MITCHELL: That should work for now.
Jessica gets a bit more frustrated at Lieutenant Mitchell.
(END OF ACT THREE, FADE OUT)FADE IN
EXT-SPACE/DONSET IV ORBIT
The Enterprise is in a higher orbit from the two warships.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
LTCMDR. T'LAR: These three bio-signs are the landing party.
CMDR. IVANOVA: Then why can't we beam them back to the ship then?
DR. CARLSON: The Captain has three shards of that stuff that can block transporters, the trip would kill him.
Jessica turns to him.
CAPT. SMITH: Well we've got to find away to get them to the ship for treatment.
CMDR. IVANOVA: Jack does have some medical training but its combat medical training.
Then Lieutenant Smith turns to Commander Ivanova.
LTJG. SMITH: Commander we're receiving a hail from the USS Excalibur under the command of Captain Lance Ramirez.
CMDR. IVANOVA: On screen.
Lieutenant Smith inputs commands into the console and the bridge of the Excalibur appears on the transparent viewer.
CAPT. RAMIREZ (Viewer): Commander Ivanova situation report?
CMDR. IVANOVA: So far we're maintaining a neutral stance but sooner or later the Enterprise is going to have to defend itself.
CAPT. RAMIREZ (Viewer): Your orders from Command are to maintain the neutral stance don't take any provoke action
CMDR. IVANOVA: Captain they've hit us several times with their rail guns I'm not going to just sit here and let them take pot shots at us!
End transmission.
Lieutenant Smith ends the transmission.
CMDR. IVANOVA: Lock phasers and photon torpedoes onto the warships, get me Lieutenant Mason.
CUT TO:
EXT-DONSET IV SURFACE
Lieutenant Mason scans Captain Branson.
LT. MASON: Damn I can't get them out with the laser scalpel due to the high constration of this stuff.
Then Mason's communicator beeps and he picks it up and opens it.
LT. MASON (to com): Mason here.
DR. CARLSON (Com Voice): How is he doing?
LT. MASON: I was able to give him something for the pain but I'm going to have to remove the shards manually.
DR. CARLSON (Com voice): I'll talk you through it Jack don't worry
Branson tries to move but Ensign Peterson holds him down.
CAPT. BRANSON: Ah W-what's going on?
LT. MASON: You took a bad blow sir.
Explosions erupt from the distances.
CAPT. BRANSON: S-Sarek?
LT. MASON: He was able to beam back to the Enterprise, Commander Ivanova is keeping the ship from being destroyed by those two warships in orbit with her you've got four shards in your neck I've got to get them out I'm gonna put you under so I can remove them.
Lieutenant Mason injects him with the sedative and Branson passes out as Lieutenant Mason gets to work on treating him.
EXT-SPACE/DONSET IV ORBIT
The two warships are continuing firing at the Enterprise hitting the port and starboard shields.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
Ship jolts hard from port to starboard.
ENS. CARLSON: They found us!
Ship jolts harder and harder.
CMDR. IVANOVA: Divert power from warp to the shields maybe that will give us more power till we can get our team back onboard.
RELIEF TACTICAL OFFICER: Aye, Commander.
Ship jolts harder and harder as lights and console screen flickering from the hits that its taking.
(END OF ACT FOUR, FADE OUT)FADE IN
EXT-SPACE/DONSET IV ORBIT
The Enterprise is taking hits from the two warships.
CMDR. IVANOVA'S (VO): First Officer's log supplemental, The Enterprise is continuing to take hits from the two Fibonan warships, so far we've managed to reinforce our shields but don't know how long it will hold
CUT TO:
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
CMDR. IVANOVA'S (VO, Continuing): We're also trying to get the rest of the landing party up, but we can't due to Captain Branson being injured in the attack on the Embassy so Lieutenant Mason is attempting to treat him in order to get him back up to the ship
LT. MITCHELL: Adjusting heading to 2-2-3 mark 15.
ENS. CARLSON: That's gonna give them an hour till they can find us again.
Commander Ivanova goes to the captain's chair and activated the ship to landing party com.
CMDR. IVANOVA (to com): Enterprise to landing party come in.
CUT TO:
EXT-DONSET IV SURFACE
Lieutenant Mason opens the communicator.
LT. MASON (To com): Mason here I'm working as fast as I can Commander.
Lieutenant Mason removes the second shard.
LT. MASON (To com): Got the second one going for the third and final one, Peterson stand ready with the gaze pad we'll need to keep it from bleeding bad.
ENS. PETERSON (Nods): Aye, sir.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
Lieutenant Commander Williams turns to Commander Ivanova.
LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: I don't think our shields can't take much more punishment Commander.
Commander Ivanova tenses up.
CMDR. IVANOVA: Seal all inner bulkheads in case our shields fail Commander.
LTCMDR. WILLIAMS: Aye, Commander.
Lieutenant Commander Williams gets to work on sealing all inner bulkheads.
Doctor Carlson is pacing about.
DR. CARLSON: Come on Jack come on.
EXT-DONSET IV SURFACE
Lieutenant Mason removes the final shard.
LT. MASON (To com): Got it out three to beam up now.
The remaining landing party beams up as explosion erupts around where they were at.
INT-SICKBAY
The medical team helps Captain Branson onto a bio-bed.
NURSE LEE (To com): Bridge we've got them.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
CMDR. IVANOVA (to com): Good job Kara get us out of here warp eight.
Ensign Carlson inputs commands into the helm station.
EXT-SPACE
The Enterprise leaps into warp.
INT-CAPTAIN'S QUARTER
Captain Branson is recovering with a patch on his collarbone area as the doors chimed.
CAPT. BRANSON: Come.
The doors opened and Commander Ivanova enters.
Z: John how are you feeling?
John puts the PADD down.
JOHN: A bit sore but Doctor Carlson says I'll make a full recovery, I was just reviewing the ship repair reports from Commander Williams.
Z: John if this is about what happened with those warships?
John gets up and walks up to her.
JOHN: You did a awesome job keeping the ship and crew alive Z and following Admiral Kirk's orders not to cause a full-scale war with the Fibonan Republic I'm putting an commendation in your record for a job well done.
Z (smiles): Thank you John.
JOHN: See you in the a few weeks Commander.
She nods and leaves his quarters as John looks out the window at the energy stream.
EXT-SPACE/WARP TUNNEL
The Enterprise soars at warp.
