Romulan Encounter is the sixth episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation season one.
- Summary
- After the Enterprise crew defeats a Romulan attack on a brand-new colony, Starfleet Command sends John and Kyle on a dangerous undercover mission to infiltrate a Romulan ship and obtain tactical information on a brand new warship being built to destroy the Federation can they find away to get the data, but when they discover that their also building a neutron torpedo it's now a plan to stop them but can they do it without getting caught!

EXT-SPACE/WARP TUNNEL
The Enterprise is on course for Pacifica.
CAPT. BRANSON'S (VO): Captain's Log Supplemental, We're on course for the ocean world of Pacifica, for some well deserved R&R
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE
Commander Ivanova is sitting in the Captain's chair while Captain Branson is in his quarters asleep.
CMDR. IVANOVA: Ensign what's our ETA to Pacifica?
Ensign Carlson checks the helm station.
ENS. CARLSON: Twenty-two hours and fourteen minutes Commander.
CMDR. IVANOVA: Increase to warp seven, I hope no one minds that we arrive ahead of our original ETA.
ENS. CARLSON: Aye, Commander.
Then Sito reports.
LTJG. SITO: Commander I'm getting a distress call from the Draken IV colony they're reporting heavy attack by a Romulan warbird.
CMDR. IVANOVA (Tensed up): Let's hear it.
She inputs commands and the signal comes over the com.
COLONY LEADER (Com Voice): This...under...need help...
Static comes over the com.
CMDR. IVANOVA: Any other ships in the area?
Lieutenant Mason checks and reports.
LT. MASON: Nothing near or in the Draken system Commander.
CMDR. IVANOVA (Annoyed): Alright fine alter course to Draken, Jack inform Pacifica of our delay.
LT. MASON: Aye, Commander.
ENS. CARLSON: Aye, Commander course altered.
CMDR. IVANOVA (To com): Senior officers to the bridge, we're responding to a distress call.
CUT TO:
EXT-SPACE/DRAKEN SYSTEM
The Enterprise drops out of warp and approaches the fourth planet.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE
ENS. CARLSON: Slowing to impulse speed now sir.
CAPT. BRANSON: Head to the fourth planet in the system and let's hope we're not too late to save them.
Then Sito reports.
LTJG. SITO: I have a visual on the warbird now sir, they're in a high orbit right now.
CAPT. BRANSON: On screen.
The viewer changes to the planet and showing a Kerchan-class warbird firing down at the surface.
ENS. CARLSON: Damn their getting pounded.
Captain Branson gets up from the Captain's chair.
CAPT. BRANSON: Open a channel to the warbird.
Lieutenant Mason inputs commands into the console.
LT. MASON: Channel open sir.
CAPT. BRANSON: Attention Romulan vessel this is Captain John Branson of the Federation Starship USS Enterprise, you're in violation of the Federation-Romulan Neutral Zone treaty of 2160. If you do not cease fire we'll respond with force!
CMDR. IVANOVA: In the history of space battles, (beat) has that ever worked?
CAPT. BRANSON (Smiles): Just felt like saying that.
Then Lieutenant Sito reports.
LTJG. SITO: They've stopped firing at the planet.
CAPT. BRANSON: I stand correctly.
Then the transparent viewer shows the Kerchan-class warbird turns towards the Sovereign-class vessel as everyone is shocked and tensed up at the sight and Lieutenant Mason reports.
LT. MASON: Their relocking their weapons and targeting us!
CAPT. BRANSON (shocked): Yeah I don't think that worked.
EXT-SPACE/DRAKEN IV ORBIT
The two ships are nose to nose with each other.
(END OF TEASER, FADE OUT, STARTING CREDITS)

The Kerchan-class warship fires on the Enterprise hitting its shield armor making it flicker.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
Ship pitches to port.
LT. MASON: Shields down to seventy-one percent!
CAPT. BRANSON: Return fire!
EXT-SPACE/DRAKEN IV ORBIT
The Enterprise fires her phasers and hits the shield armor of the Kerchan-class warbird.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
LT. MASON: Direct hit. No damage!
More hits rock them...As a shower of sparks erupts from one of the consoles.
CMDR. IVANOVA: Someone put that fire out!
Sito gets up from the ops console to grab a fire extinguisher.
CAPT. BRANSON (Confused): What happened to automatic fire suppression?
LTJG. SITO: That's the panel that caught fire!
Sito puts it out.
Lieutenant Mason checks his console read out on the shields.
LT. MASON: Shields down to thirty percent!
CMDR. IVANOVA: John, if we stay in a pounding match any longer.
CAPT. BRANSON: We lose, (beat) Kara, can you take us into the upper atmosphere of the planet? Just skim the surface between air and space.
ENS. CARLSON (Confused): Captain, that'll create a lot of friction. With the deflectors low, the atmosphere...
CAPT. BRANSON: Can you do it?
ENS. CARLSON: Yes, sir.
CAPT. BRANSON: Jack prep a payload of torpedoes we're gonna shove them down their throats.
LT. MASON: Aye, sir.
CAPT. BRANSON: Kara go.
Ensign Carlson inputs commands into the helm.
EXT-SPACE/DRAKEN IV ORBIT
The Enterprise comes about as the Romulan Warbird fires at it hitting it's ventral Shields, as the ship heads to the planet as the Warbird gives chase it starts firing trying to get a lock on the ship but misses every shot.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
CAPT. BRANSON: Kara where are we at?
ENS. CARLSON: Entering upper atmosphere now sir.
EXT-SPACE/UPPER ATMOSPHERE OF DRAKEN IV
Both the Romulan vessel and Enterprise are skimming along the upper atmosphere as heat is forming on both ships forward section and smoke is emitting from both vessels, as the Romulan vessel fires at the Enterprise but misses every shot.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)

LT. MASON: Romulan vessel can't seem to lock onto us.
