Games is the seventh episode of Star Trek: The New Generation Season Two.

- On the way to Starbase 621 the Enterprise responds to a distress call from a Federation outpost that has been attacked by a Borg vessel, they discover the outpost was destroyed by a Borg cube and the Enterprise and crew encounters the cube and the fight for survival begins can the Enterprise and her crew make it!

The Enterprise is at high warp on course for Starbase 621.
CAPT. BRANSON (VO): Captain's Log Stardate 53435.4, The Enterprise is on course for Starbase 621 for some well deserved R&R after months on patrol for Borg activity that never happened in different sectors
INT-CAPTAIN'S READY ROOM
Captain Branson looks at damage reports and repair reports from their last mission before they were put on patrol duties, when the com activates.
CMDR. IVANOVA (Com Voice): Bridge to Captain
CAPT. BRANSON (To com): Branson here go ahead.
CMDR. IVANOVA (Com Voice): We're receiving a secure channel from the Starship Verity its Admiral Picard
CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Patch him through.
CMDR. IVANOVA (Com Voice): Aye, sir
The desktop monitor shows the ready room of Vice Admiral Picard.
CAPT. BRANSON: Admiral what can I do for you.
VICE ADM. PICARD (Monitor): We picked up a distress call from one of our colonies, they reported being attacked by an unknown vessel since we've don't have any ship in the sector Starfleet has asked for the Enterprise to figure out what happened
CAPT. BRANSON: Ugh Jean-Luc we were on our way to Starbase 621 for repairs and R&R we've been on patrol for two months scanning for transwarp conduits and sealing them with the upgrades you gave Lieutenant Clarkson the last time you were onboard.
VICE ADM. PICARD (Monitor): John I understand but we need the best ship and crew and that's the Enterprise
CAPT. BRANSON (Sighs): Aye, sir.
VICE ADM. PICARD (Monitor): I've sent the coordinates to the helm for Lieutenant Carlson to alter your heading good luck and keep me posted Picard out
Transmission ends as John leans on his desk frustrated.
CAPT. BRANSON (to com): Bridge to Branson we've just received coordinates to sector 545.
CMDR. IVANOVA (Com Voice): Yes, sir Kara just got them
CAPT. BRANSON (To com): Alter course maximum warp.
CMDR. IVANOVA (Com Voice): Aye, sir

EXT-SPACE
Meanwhile in a Federation sector a cube attacks a colony just bombards it and then moves on.

Act One[]

EXT-SPACE/WARP TUNNEL
The Enterprise is on course for the Federation outpost.
INT-BRIEFING ROOM
the crew is hearing the cries for help from the colonists as the transmission fizzed out, John shuts the com off and looks at Commander Ivanova, Lieutenant Mason, Lieutenant junior grade Carlson, Lieutenant Sito, Lieutenant Clarkson, Lieutenant Commander T'Lar, and Doctor Carlson.
CAPT. BRANSON: That was all that Starfleet Command received from the colony they gone dark at 0700 hours this morning, now Starfleet has given us orders to proceed but if we come across a Borg battlegroup we're to fallback and inform Starfleet they'll send a battlegroup to handle them.
LT. MASON: My security teams are ready to repel borders and I've set all weapons and shields to a rotating modulation but I suspect that the Borg will adapt quickly.
CAPT. BRANSON: We'll need to prepare dismissed.
EXT-SPACE
The Enterprise exits warp and enters the system.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
The bridge is at red alert as the crew are at their battle stations as Lieutenant Carlson turns to Captain Branson reports.
LTJG. CARLSON: We're approaching Aldebaran III sir.
Captain Branson gets up from the Captain's chair.
CAPT. BRANSON: Bring us into orbit.
LTJG. CARLSON: Aye, sir.
EXT-SPACE/ALDEBRAN III ORBIT
The Enterprise enters orbit of the planet.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
Transparent viewer shows the planet.
CAPT. BRANSON: Full sensor scans Sito search for survivors?
Lieutenant Sito gets to work on her console runs her scans.
LT. SITO (Shocked): No survivors it looks like whoever did this didn't want anyone telling Starfleet who attacked them.
LT. MASON (Shocked): Captain I just ran a weapons scan and the energy signature is Borg.
CMDR. IVANOVA (Shocked): They killed them all.
Captain Branson is shocked by this.
EXT-SPACE/ALDEBRAN III ORBIT
The Enterprise is in orbit of the planet still.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
CAPT. BRANSON: How could the Borg prevent them from getting a distress call out?
LTCMR. T'LAR: Its possible that they jammed them.
CAPT. BRANSON: Jack send our report to Admiral Picard.
LT. MASON: Aye, sir.
CAPT. BRANSON: Kara set course for Starbase 621 maximum warp.
LTJG. CARLSON: Aye, sir.
LT. MASON: I can't get a transmission we're being jammed by something.
LTJG. CARLSON: I can't engage the warp drive something is disrupting it.
Captain Branson tapped his combadge.
CAPT. BRANSON (To com): Branson to Engineering what's going on?
CUT TO:
INT-MAIN ENGINEERING
Lieutenant Clarkson and his staff are working on figuring out what's wrong with the warp drive.
LT. CLARKSON (to com): Something is preventing us from creating a stable warp drive.
CAPT. BRANSON (Com Voice): What is it?
LT. CLARKSON (To com): I'm not sure.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
LTCMDR. T'LAR: Its a transwarp conduit.
CAPT. BRANSON: Can we close it?
LTCMDR. T'LAR: Unknown.
CAPT. BRANSON: What can we do?
LTCMDR. T'LAR: If we do what we did for the last few months.
CAPT. BRANSON: Sito do it.
LT. SITO: Aye, sir.
Captain Branson tenses up.

Act Two[]

EXT-SPACE/PLANET ORBIT
The Enterprise is in orbit of the planet.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE
Transparent viewer shows the planet below.
CAPT. BRANSON: Why would the Borg attack this colony it makes no sense?
LT. MASON: It was pretty well defended sir 45 Starships both from Starfleet and Klingon forces mostly dreadnoughts and destroyers in the battlegroup.
Captain Branson sits in the Captain's chair.
LT. MASON: We're being hailed by Starfleet Command its Rear Admiral Edward Jellico.
CAPT. BRANSON: On screen.
Lieutenant Mason inputs commands into the tactical console and brings it up on the viewer.
REAR ADM. JELLICO (Viewer): What's the situation Captain?
CAPT. BRANSON: The outpost was attacked by a Borg Cube sir no survivors.
Admiral Jellico is shocked by that.
REAR ADM. JELLICO (Viewer): So the Borg attacked the Aldebaran system
CAPT. BRANSON (nods): Yes, sir.
Jellico thinks and the gives Branson orders.
REAR ADM. JELLICO (Viewer): We're dispatching the 16th and 31st fleets to your position but they'll be an hour away at most, your orders are to hold position and await the fleet is that clear
CAPT. BRANSON: Yes, sir.
REAR ADM. JELLICO (Viewer): Jellico out
Transmission ends as Commander Ivanova is confused.
CMDR. IVANOVA: So I guess we're gonna stay here?
CAPT. BRANSON (Sighs): Yeah I guess we're staying here have probes launch and scan for transwarp conduits.
LTCMDR. T'LAR: Aye, sir.
CAPT. BRANSON: Jack take us to yellow alert.
LT. MASON (Nods): Aye, sir.
Lieutenant Mason inputs commands into the console and the yellow lights start flashing.
LTCMDR. T'LAR: Probe launched sir.
CUT TO:
EXT-SPACE
A close up of the forward launcher the probe launches and moves out.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (YELLOW ALERT)
CAPT. BRANSON: I want to know the second that the conduit opened.
LTCMDR. T'LAR: Aye, sir.
CAPT. BRANSON: I'll be in my ready room you've got the bridge Z.
CMDR. IVANOVA (nods): Aye, sir.
Captain Branson enters his ready room as Commander Ivanova sits in the Captain's chair.
LT. MASON: We're sitting here guarding a dead world for what?
LTJG. CARLSON: I don't like it either Jack but we've got to follow the Admiral's orders.
LT. MASON: Even if its someone that no one likes.
CMDR. IVANOVA: Now that's enough Lieutenant like it or not Admiral Jellico is a superior officer and we've got to follow his orders, even if we don't like it or not.
LT. MASON: Yes Commander.
INT-CAPTAIN'S READY ROOM
Captain Branson is sitting at the desk reviewing the outpost personnel then the com activates.
CMDR. IVANOVA (Com Voice): Captain Branson to the bridge
Captain Branson gets up from his desk.
CUT TO:
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (YELLOW ALERT)
Captain Branson enters the bridge.
CAPT. BRANSON: Report?
CMDR. IVANOVA: Captain we've got a problem our warp drive isn't engaging.
CAPT. BRANSON: What's wrong with it?
LTJG. CARLSON: I'm not sure it looks like it's being blocked by subspace disruption.
T'Lar reports.
LTCMDR. T'LAR: Its from the transwarp.
Then alarm blares.
LT. MASON: TRANSWARP CONDUIT FORMING!
Both Captain Branson and Commander Ivanova turn to the transparent.
EXT-SPACE/ALDEBRAN ORBIT
A Borg cube emerges from the transwarp conduit and approaches the planet where the Enterprise is in orbit.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE
CAPT. BRANSON: RED ALERT!
Lights dimmed and klaxons blare.
(END OF ACT TWO, FADE OUT)
Act Three[]
FADE IN
EXT-SPACE
The Enterprise is staring at the Borg Cube.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
Klaxons blare as the crew are all at their battle stations and two guards are posted on the bridge with type 3-E phaser rifles, then the console beeps as Lieutenant Mason looks at his console and reports to Captain Branson.
LT. MASON: Sir we're being hailed by the cube.
CAPT. BRANSON: On screen.
BORG COLLECTIVE (Viewer): We are the Borg you will be assimilated Resistance is Futile
CAPT. BRANSON: You will return to your side of the galaxy and never come back or we'll have to fight you.
BORG COLLECTIVE (Viewer): Irrelevant
CAPT. BRANSON: Is it? you've scanned our vessel, you know we can match your firepower.
BORG COLLECTIVE (Viewer): You will be assimilated
Transmission ends.
EXT-SPACE
The cube fires at the Enterprise hitting her shield bubble.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
Ship jolts hard.
LT. MASON: Shields holding.
CAPT. BRANSON: Return fire!
LT. MASON: Aye, sir.
Lieutenant Mason presses the firing button.
EXT-SPACE
The Enterprise fires her phasers at the cube.
INT-ENTEPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
Sparks erupt from the ceiling.
LT. MASON: Direct hit to their power grid no effect!
Sparks erupt again.
CAPT. BRANSON: Increase phaser yield!
LT. MASON: Photon torpedoes ready sir.
CAPT. BRANSON: Dispersal pattern Sierra and fire!
Lieutenant Mason presses the firing button.
EXT-SPACE
The forward launcher fires and the torpedo splits into four and scores direct hits on the cube.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
LT. SITO: Direct hit sir moderate damage to their port shields.
Ship jolts hard.
LTJG. CARLSON: Going to evasive pattern beta 3.
EXT-SPACE
The Enterprise approaching the cube firing torpedoes at the top section of the cube causing explosions along the outer hull as the cube fires back, and then Archer throws a barrage of phaser fire and then moves away as the cube fires at the ship breaching the port shields striking the port nacelle causing it to vent plasma.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
Another shower of sparks erupt from the ceiling as Lieutenant Mason reports.
LT. MASON: Shields down to 65%
LT. SITO: Direct hit to the port nacelle, we're venting plasma, hull breach, deck eleven!
LT. CLARKSON: Warp drive is back on-line John.
CAPT. BRANSON: Bless you Kyle Kara go.
LTJG. CARLSON: Aye, sir.
EXT-SPACE
The Enterprise enters warp.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
CAPT. BRANSON: Sito contact DS12 let them know what is happening and we need back up.
LT. SITO: Sir I can't.
CAPT. BRANSON: Why not?
LTCMDR. T'LAR: The cube is in pursuit sir and its still jamming our transmissions!
CAPT. BRANSON: What?
LT. SITO: Confirmed its on our tail.
CAPT. BRANSON: On screen.
Transparent viewer shows the cube chasing them.
Branson is tensed up.

Act Four[]
FADE IN
EXT-SPACE/WARP TUNNEL
CAPT. BRANSON (VO): We are unable to maintain the gap between the Archer and the Borg ship
The Enterprise is fleeing from the cube that is giving chase.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
LTJG. CARLSON: I've tried getting us to warp 9.98 but the cube is matching us.
CAPT. BRANSON: Keep it up Kara.
Lieutenant Mason report.
LT. MASON: Sir the cube is firing.
EXT-SPACE/WARP TUNNEL
The cube fires at the Enterprise hitting her aft shields making them flicker.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
Lights flickering.
LT. MASON: Shields down to 42%.
CMDR. IVANOVA: Arm the photon torpedoes let's see if we can slow them down.
Lieutenant Mason inputs commands into the console.
LT. MASON: Torpedoes ready.
CAPT. BRANSON: Fire!
EXT-SPACE/WARP TUNNEL
The aft section of the Enterprise fires a spread of torpedoes that don't do any sort of damage to the cube.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
LT. SITO: The Borg cube isn't damage.
LT. MASON: Their firing again.
EXT-SPACE/WARP TUNNEL
The cube fires at the Enterprise hitting her shields.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
A shower of sparks erupts from the ceiling and the MSD, as Lieutenant Mason smacks the tactical console and reports to Captain Branson.
LT. MASON: We have lost shields.
Then Lieutenant Carlson reports.
LTJG. CARLSON: Captain we've lost warp drive again we're dropping to impulse speed!
EXT-SPACE
The Enterprise drops out of warp.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
CAPT. BRANSON: Kyle?
LT. CLARKSON: Their torpedoes must of disabled our warp engines somehow.
CAPT. BRANSON: fire weapons!
Lieutenant Mason inputs commands into the tactical console.
EXT-SPACE
The Enterprise fires a spread of phasers at the Cube hitting it's outer hull then it's shields and the cube fires off a torpedo and struck the port side of the ship causing a massive explosion where the torpedo struck bodies float out of hull breaches.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
Huge showers of sparks erupt from the MSD as crewmen falls from where their standing.
LT. SITO: Hull breaches on decks four-nineteen emergency force fields aren't responding we're venting atmosphere!
LT. MASON: Sickbay is reporting heavy causalities!
CAPT. BRANSON: Damn it wait Kara come to course three-four-four mark six, full impulse.
Lieutenant Carlson inputs commands into the helm and turns to Captain Branson.
LTJG. CARLSON: Captain that takes us directly into a star.
CAPT. BRANSON: You hear me Kara care out my orders.
LTJG. CARLSON: Aye, sir.
Lieutenant Carlson inputs commands into the helm Captain Branson sits back in his chair.

Act Five[]
FADE IN
EXT-SPACE
The Enterprise speeds towards the star with the Borg cube closing in behind the ship as the port nacelle is venting plasma from it.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
Captain is at the engineering console where Kyle is working.
CAPT. BRANSON: Kyle the databanks should contain information about a process called metaphasic shielding.
LT. CLARKSON: I know about that research, Commander La Forge was developing a program that would implement metaphasic properties, he sent it into the Starfleet Corps of Engineers to put it out to the fleet we were the first ship to get it.
Then the ship jolts hard.
LT. MASON: Hull breach deck twenty-one!
CAPT. BRANSON: No time like the present Kyle.
LT. CLARKSON (Sighs): Aye, sir engaging the metaphasic shielding now sir.
LT. SITO: Its working sir hull temperature dropping, down to seven thousand degrees, the Borg cube is still in pursuit their not backing down from the chase.
CAPT. BRANSON: Damn.
Then the ship jolts.
LT. MASON: They've got us in their tractor beam we're being hauled in.
CUT TO:
EXT-SPACE/INSIDE THE SUN
The Borg cube is pulling the Enterprise to them.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
CAPT. BRANSON: Jack remodulate the shields try to break us free!
Lieutenant Mason works on the console.
LT. MASON: No luck sir.
CAPT. BRANSON: Launch the message buoy Jack.
LT. MASON: Aye, sir launching buoy now.
EXT-SPACE/INSIDE THE STAR
The Enterprise launches the buoy.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
Captain Branson sits in the center chair.
CAPT. BRANSON: Computer set auto-destruct sequence recognize voice pattern John Branson, Authorization alpha-alpha three-zero-five.
COMPUTER VOICE: Auto-destruct is off-line
Captain Branson is tensed up.
LTCMDR. T'LAR: Captain I think I have an idea.
CAPT. BRANSON: I'm all ears T'Lar.
LTCMDR. T'LAR: I think it's possible we could induce a solar fusion eruption that would destroy the Borg ship.
CMDR. IVANOVA (Shocked): WHAT!
LTCMDR. T'LAR: We need to direct a highly energetic particle beam onto the sun's surface, that should produce a superfluid gas eruption, if we target the right spot, the eruption would envelop the Borg ship.
CAPT. BRANSON: Z its all we got.
Captain Branson and Commander Ivanova sit in their chairs.
CAPT. BRANSON: T'Lar do it.
Commander T'Lar inputs commands into the console and activates the particle beam.
CUT TO:
EXT-SPACE/INSIDE THE STAR
While the Enterprise is being pulled towards the cube when a beam lances out from the belly of the Enterprise and it causes the cube to break the beam and the Enterprise speeds away from the solar infusion as the cube explodes into a thousand pieces and a shockwave emits from it and washes over the Enterprise pitching it side to side.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE (RED ALERT)
a huge shower of sparks erupt from the ceiling and a support beam falls down from the ceiling and the MSD explodes in a shower of sparks and coolant vents from the ceiling.
INT-MAIN ENGINEERING
An officer falls from the top area and Lieutenant Gomez falls from the middle console as another officer falls from the ladder as well and a crewmen is on fire as Gomez puts him out with a fire.
LTJG. GOMEZ: GET ME A MEDIC!
The ship then pitches to port causing her to fall.
EXT-SPACE
The Enterprise is drifting.
Meanwhile the USS Nightingale exits warp.
INT-NIGHTINGALE MAIN BRIDGE
Captain Smith is in the command chair looking at the viewer.
CAPT. SMITH: My god.
LT. NELSON: It looks like debris from the Borg cube and some from the Enterprise.
CAPT. SMITH: Keep looking for them.
LT. NELSON: Got it but badly damaged.
Captain Smith sits in the chair.
CAPT. SMITH: Set a pursuit course.
The helm officer inputs commands into the helm.
EXT-SPACE
The Enterprise is drifting.
INT-ENTERPRISE MAIN BRIDGE
The crew is repairing the damage.
LT. SITO: Sir I'm picking up a ship bearing 3-4-5 mark 2-2-5.
Captain Branson walks over to her.
CAPT. BRANSON: Another Borg vessel?
She checks her station.
LT. SITO: No its a Federation vessel Olympic-class vessel its the Nightingale we're being hailed.
CAPT. BRANSON: On screen.
Transparent viewer shows the bridge of the Medical vessel.
CAPT. SMITH (Viewer): John is everyone alright?
CAPT. BRANSON: We've suffered some damage but everyone is all right.
CAPT. SMITH (Viewer): We'll tow you to DS9
CAPT. BRANSON: Thanks Captain.
Transmission ends.
EXT-SPACE/BAJORAN SECTOR
The Enterprise is docked at the Federation/Bajoran Starbase.
INT-CAPTAIN'S READY ROOM
Captain Branson is sitting in the chair behind his desk looking at the damage reports and causality reports, when the doors chimed.
CAPT. BRANSON: Come.
The doors opened and Captain Smith enters.
JOHN (Smiles): Hey.
JESS: Hey thank god you're alive.
JOHN: Same here but I lost twenty-three crewmen when deck 19 lost atmosphere.
Jessica holds his hand.
JESS: Hey everything will be alright.
JOHN (Sighs): Yeah.
JESS: How did you destroy that Borg cube?
JOHN (Smiles): We used the sun as a weapon we did what the Enterprise-D did in 2370 against that Borg vessel.
